He’s lived in almost 50 different homes in 14 US states, and moved in with his wife, Katherine Applegate, after knowing her less than 24 hours.
Claudia Gray has worked as a lawyer, a journalist, a disc jockey, and an extremely poor waitress. Her lifelong interests in old houses, classic movies, vintage style, and history all play a part in creating the world of Evernight.
Claudia Gabel has written several books for young adults including Friends Close, Enemies Closer, Sweet And Vicious, Loves Me, Loves Me Not and In or Out. She was editor of her high school newspaper and sent anonymous messages to her crush in every issue. Her favourite gift as a child was a writing desk and the first book she bought was Ramona the Pest.
Sarah Garland is the author of several exciting children’s titles, including ‘Dad on the Run’, ‘The Survival of Arno Mostyn’ and ‘Shadows on the Barn’, which was shortlisted for the Smarties Children’s Fiction Award.
She lives near Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
Little is known of the mysterious Jacob Grey. He is said to live in a big city in the USA, where he wanders the streets at night dreaming up his dark and twisted tales. He has a deep love of animals and even talks to crows himself… although no one knows if he understands their replies.
Robin Preiss Glasser, who habitually sports glasses and jeans, discovered her “inner Nancy” while illustrating this book. “Wearing lace-trimmed socks helps me draw better,” she says. She has illustrated many books and lives in Southern California with her family and tiara collection.
Brough Girling is a well-known author of children’s books – Jets, Jokebooks and fiction for older readers – all humourous stuff. He was the first head of the Children’s Book Foundation [now Young Book Trust]; editor of Young Telegraph and still heads up Readathon which raises enormous sums of money for children’s charities during National Book Week.
