Sorrel Anderson hasn’t always been a writer. Once upon a time she worked as a civil servant, and it was there that she found the inspiration for her characters – quite literally. Narinder Dhami was born in Wolverhampton. Having read English at Birmingham University, she spent the next nine years teaching in schools in the East End of London before leaving teaching to write full-time. Her first children’s book A Medal for Malina was published in 1990, and since then Narinder has written hundreds of stories for different age groups.
