Maggie Prince was born and grew up in Lancaster. She was educated at London University, from where she obtained a Master’s Degree. She now lives in Hertfordshire and is married with two children.

I’m 38 and live in South West London with my husband, James, 8 year old daughter, Mackey, and two cats Barnaby and Basil. As well as writing children’s stories, I edit other people’s and teach piano and flute to all sorts of individuals. Quite a long time ago I was in the British Sailing Team and windsurfed all over the world. When I was too tired to carry on, I worked editing feature films for 8 years until Mackey was born, when I realised that what I really wanted to do was write stories!

Robin Preiss Glasser

Robin Preiss Glasser, who habitually sports glasses and jeans, discovered her “inner Nancy” while illustrating this book. “Wearing lace-trimmed socks helps me draw better,” she says. She has illustrated many books and lives in Southern California with her family and tiara collection.

Antoinette Portis attended the UCLA School of Fine Arts and is a former creative director at Disney Consumer Products. She lives in Studio City, California, USA.

Aprilynne Pike

Aprilynne Pike has been spinning faerie stories since she was a child with a hyperactive imagination. She completed her BA in creative writing at the age of twenty at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. Aprilynne currently lives with her husband and three kids in Arizona.

Jack Prelutsky

Jack Prelutsky has written more than thirty books of verse, edited several enormously popular anthologies (and been extensively anthologized himself), translated a number of books, and is always at work on the poems for at least three future books. He has lived in Boston, Albuquerque and Manhattan, but now lives in Seattle.
