Brian Paterson

Brian Paterson was born in Ayrshire, Scotland, the heart of’Robert Burns’ country in 1949. At the age of twelve he moved to Somerset, where he later met Cynthia whom he married in 1973. Upon their marriage the couple moved to London where Brian worked as a designer by day and on developing his own style of illustrating by night. Cynthia and Brian are the author and illustrator of the popular Foxwood Tales series.

Sara Pennypacker

Sara Pennypacker is the author of the bestselling Pax, the award-winning, New York Times bestselling Clementine series, the novel Summer of the Gypsy Moths, and the picture books Pierre in Love, Sparrow Girl, and Meet the Dullards. Ann Pilling was brought up in Warrington, Cheshire and many of her books are set in the industrial North West. After reading English at London University, she taught in Buckinghamshire, then spent time in America before returning to England and settling eventually in Oxford. She is married with two sons. Ann has been writing books for children since 1983.

Whenever possible, Ann retreats to the Yorkshire Dales which she calls ‘the country of my heart’.

Lincoln Peirce

Lincoln Peirce is a cartoonist/writer and the creator of the comic strip Big Nate, which appears in over 400 newspapers and online at gocomics.com/bignate. He has also written and illustrated several New York Times bestselling books for young readers, including the Big Nate novels and the Max & the Midknights trilogy. Both series have been adapted for television by Nickelodeon. Lincoln lives and works in Portland, Maine.
